MAS

MAS — where does it come from?
It comes from Melhores Amigos Sempre — Best Friends Forever.

MAS wine, born in the heart of the Douro, is light, elegant, and vibrant in colour. Above all, MAS is the purest expression of a tribute to friendship. Its name is proof of that. MAS are the initials of Melhores Amigos Sempre, discreetly inscribed on each bottle’s label, like a well-kept secret.

Niepoort

A toast shared by two hands.

The ambition to create a truly unique wine deserved a special partner. Thus began the collaboration with Niepoort, from Quinta de Nápoles, with the challenge of expressing the full potential of the old vineyard.

Niepoort is one of the most remarkable Portuguese producers, with a core philosophy rooted in experimentation and in exploring the potential of each wine. Under the guidance of winemaker Luís Pedro, MAS wine came to life with a shared purpose: to bring lightness, elegance, and authenticity to every toast.

There is always more to say.

MAS

The Vilarinho vineyard, facing northwest at an altitude of 250 metres, is located in Folgosa do Douro, in northern Portugal. With over 90 years old, it is deeply rooted in poor schist soils. It is here that Touriga Francesa and Tinta Roriz stand out among other traditional Douro grape varieties, giving rise to a wine with character, identity, and soul — a wine that knows where it comes from.

Tasting Notes

The colour is bright and lightly concentrated. This red reveals the true profile of the Douro — its diverse grape varieties, schist soils, and vineyards with varying orientations and altitudes.

On the nose, floral notes of violet emerge, with subtle hints of graphite over a base of red fruits such as currants and cherries.

On the palate, it is the ultimate expression of elegance, with a delicate structure and excellent acidity.

It finishes long, persistent, spicy, and fresh. The oak is extremely discreet, complemented by balsamic notes or a hint of menthol, lending it remarkable sophistication.

Pairs perfectly with mushrooms, game dishes such as partridge or pheasant, duck magret, or pepper steak. Would you like to experience the authentic expression of the Douro?
